STIB/MIVB is the local public transport operator in Brussels (Belgium).
STIB/MIVB is responsible for Brussels metro, bus, and tram networks as well as for branches of 'De Lijn' services in Flanders and 'TEC'-services in Wallonia.
The MIVB/STIB-network serves all 19 communes of Brussels Capital Region including 11 suburban districts and covers 4 metro lines, 20 tram lines, 50 bus lines and 17 night bus lines. Its total working area encloses a surface of 241,5 km
2. In 2008 approximately 286,1 million travelers made use of the MIVB/STIB network to move within the capital.
Scope
The project covers central management of the depots, garage tracks and stations. All kinds of alarms (e.g. intrusion, access control, fire, ...) are centrally monitored, doors can be controlled at a distance and video focus can be switched. Over 80 stations and several buildings are connected to the Sky-Walker integration platform.
