New prison of Hasselt
The new prison of Hasselt was inaugurated on the 3rd of February 2005. It's the most modern prison of the country. The cell complex consists out of 3 wings, 1 woman wing, and 1 central crux. This brand new prison can shelter 450 prisoners, among which 30 feminine prisoners. The prison provides jobs to 326 prison guards.
Entelec Control Systems supplies the Prison of Hasselt with a high performance security management system, which grasps a complete overview of the site and manages the internal machinery of the building. From 9 control rooms the building is monitored entirely.
