Before Maasstad hospital moved to another location, they identified the need for a central monitoring application which would enable the management of their new site. Together with partner Vitoz, Entelec successfully developed and installed the tailored ‘Sky-Walker Integration Platform'. Technologies integrated include access control, intrusion and CCTV. Soon, an intercom system will be included as well.
Previously, ‘Maasstad' was a collective term for two hospitals in the Netherlands: Hospital St. Clara and ‘Zuiderziekenhuis' (Eng. Southern Hospital). Since May 2011, both are housed at a new location on the ‘Care Boulevard' in Rotterdam. A complete monitoring solution was in order to ensure optimal safety, security and building management efficiency. Purchase advisor Vitoz was responsible for the installation on site.
On 17 May 2011, the time finally came for the St. Clara and Southern Hospital to move into the new building. A total of 200 patients and about 6500 cubic meters of medical equipment, computers and furniture needed to be transported. All transports were escorted by police. Intersections were closed and red lights could be ignored so that transports did not have to interrupt their trip.
