Entelec are pleased to confirm the release of our Geocam extension. The Sky-Walker Integration Platform can now be equipped with a tool that provides wholly intuitive camera surveillance for operators. This is a unique and genuine breakthrough within system integration solutions for handling CCTV.

 

 

Geocam: the aim 

By selecting a location on a map or floor plan within the Sky-Walker Integration Platform, all relevant images from cameras near this location are automatically displayed.

 

Now, the operator only needs to select the target area what he wants to see rather than having to select individual camera images. Geocam automatically display all the cameras that are able to visualise that exact spot of interest giving the operator and immediate overview of all possible views available.

 

At Entelec, engineers make as much time as possible to brainstorm for improvements out of the box, striving for even more efficiency within system integration solutions. That is why Geocam extension is quite spectacular - the whole underlying idea is different now.

Tracker 

The extension is provided with a tracker, which makes it possible to use GPS coordinates if the operator needs to track something or someone by their phone or GPS device. The plans that are used here as ‘background' for the operator are equipped with GPS coordinates in longitude and latitude. Why this is interesting? Plans from a particular city can be used for following e.g. police car, that is in charge of the safety of the yearly city parade.

 

If GPS or similar data is not available or irrelevant in a certain situation, Entelec will provide a cross reference of site plans images and available cameras, so that Geocam "knows" which camera gives an overview of which spot on the plans - see image above.

It is even possible to do this in height, which is interesting for the security of projects such as soccer or football stadiums, concert halls or even theatres.

In developing Geocam, we got R&D support from IWT, a government agency for Science and Technology Innovation. Their goal is to help Flemish companies and research centres in realizing their R&D projects.

In the Sky-Walker Integration Platform
