Entelec are proud to announce that COLT, Europe's leading information delivery platform, will be making use of the Sky-Walker Integration Platform as a system integration solution for their data centre in Nossegem.

The English telecommunications company's building in Nossegem is one of COLT's 19 data centres. COLT provide over 33,000km of network infrastructure in 38 major European cities with direct fibre connections to thousands of buildings.

COLT's mission is to help their customers to reduce capital costs and increase flexibility & control throughout Europe. To keep their customer's data safe, a lot of technologies are installed at the data centres, such as:

• Fire detection
• Fire extinguishing
• Energy meters
• Cool units
• Static Switch
• DC rectifier
• Waterleak detection
• PLCs

COLT's high security policies require a real-time backup of all critical alarm messages. That's why they not only monitor the site locally, but also remotely, as a 24/7 connection with India is foreseen. The local surveillance is done by the Sky-Walker Integration Platform. This way, security operators have all the necessary information to supervise and maintain the site in an optimized way.

At the Remote Incident Monitoring site (RIM), only critical site alarms are directly stored into multiple outstations, without software interference. These outstations are continuously read out by the RIM in India. By applying this type of setup, COLT can guarantee that a critical alarm messages loss is reduced to almost none.
