Sky-Walker Integration Platform

So how does the platform work exactly?

All available systems are connected to the programme. They can now communicate with each other. The programme's graphical user interface presents a floor-plan showing icons that represent which system can be found where. The operator can handle the technologies via these icons as well.

When an alarm occurs, the operator is triggered by sounds and flashing images. He can immediately see what went wrong, and where. The Sky-Walker Integration Platform consists of three main parts: server, drivers and the Graphical User Interface

Server

sky-walker server bms

The Sky-Walker Integration Platform server software handles the communication process between external systems (fire, intrusion detection, CCTV, access control, HVAC, lighting, traffic management, etc.) and the Sky-Walker Integration Platform graphical workstations. The server software manages:

  • events and alarms coming from external systems
  • commands sent to external systems
  • interactions between several external systems

Drivers

Drivers are software components establishing communication between the external connected systems and the Sky-Walker Integration Platform's server. Any intelligent hardware can be integrated as long as it provides:
  • a communication port (RS232, RS485, Ethernet, Lon, etc.)
  • a communication protocol (standards such as Lon, BacNet, ModBus, OPC, or any well defined API)

Graphical User Interface

bms graphical user interfaceThe Graphical User Interface is the operator interface to visualize and control the connected subsystems.

It is independent of the controlled subsystems, communication links, and protocols. The Graphical User Interface consists out of several layers which are built up in a hierarchical manner. The top layer presents the global environment and the lower layers show the status of the specific objects it contains.
